PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge capable of improving the work accuracy and efficiency of a process of manufacturing a release component for releasing a reel locked state. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cartridge of a type where a release button 20 (release component) for releasing the locked state of a reel 10 is built in a cup-shaped hub 12 formed in the reel 10 is constructed in such a manner that a fitting hole 31 is formed to fit the release button 20 in the bottom of the hub 12, detection holes 40, 40 and 40 having predetermined positional relations with the fitting hole 31 penetrate, and openings of the detection holes 40, 40 and 40 formed in the upper surface of the bottom of the hub 12 face a metal plate 15 (reflection plate) attached to the lower surface of the bottom of the hub 12.
