The pneumatically or electromechanically operated disc brake for commercial vehicles has two brake linings, with at least the lining on the reaction side designed in such a way that the brake lining carrier has one or more recesses in which engages a corresponding element connected in one piece to the brake calliper (1), or fixed on it and protruding from it, and/or the brake carrier has one or more protruding elements engaging in recesses formed in the brake lining carrier. An independent claim is included for a brake lining for a disc brake.
