<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine management system, capable of efficiently managing automatic vending machines installed at a large number of locations. <P>SOLUTION: This vending machine managing system comprises: the vending machines selling commodities; and an vending machine management device that manages the automatic vending machines. The automatic vending machine has: a commodity input detecting means 46 for detecting the commodity inputted to a commodity storage part; a commodity discharge detecting means 56 for detecting the commodity discharged from the commodity storage part; a coin detection means 120 for detecting a coin inputted from a coin input port; a bill detecting means 128 for detecting a bill inserted from a bill insertion port; a change detecting means 166 for detecting a discharge of change; and a commodity/sales managing controller for generating commodity data, and sales data or the like on the basis of detection signals from the detection means.
