<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink that can give a printed image matter having excellent gloss and image clarity and excellent nozzle clogging recovery property. <P>SOLUTION: The water-based ink comprises at least the color material particles bearing anionic group on the surface prepared by coating the particle surface with a polymer having a recurring structural units derived from a cationic hydrophilic monomer bearing cationic group, hydrophobic group and polymerizable group and another recurring structural units derived from an anionically polymerizable surfactant bearing anionic group, hydrophobic group and polymerizable group and/or derived from a hydrophilic monomer bearing anionic group and additionally a compound represented by formula (1) and a compound represented by formula (2)(wherein R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>are each a 1-10C alkyl, m, n are each recurring unit number and m + n is 0 to 10 on the average and 4 ≤ a + b + c + d ≤ 80). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
