PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storing and transporting method of efficiently keeping a hydrate cool. SOLUTION: The method of storing and transporting a hydrate comprises performing hydration for dividing the components of a mixed gas to obtain a plurality of hydrates and keeping part of the hydrates cold by utilizing the cold energy of the other hydrate to store or transport them. The storage tank used in the storing and transporting method has a structure in which the target hydrate is kept cool by the cold energy of the other hydrate and a partition 10 of a substance (a metal) having high thermal conductivity is provided in between an inner tank 1 and an outer tank 2, and a sufficient insulating material 9 is preferably used for the wall in contact with the outside of the tank 2.
