PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plastic optical fiber formed by laminating a core and a clad having small variance in core diameter and clad diameter in one stage. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the method for manufacturing the plastic optical fiber formed by laminating the core and clad, the method being characterized in that while a setting polymer for the core is injected, the core is made of the curing polymer and and the clad is made of setting resin or thermoplastic resin, and with this combination, the core and the clad are extruded at the same time. Here, the thermosetting resin or thermoplastic resin for the clad is extruded in a liquid for formation, and formed and cured while the injection pressure of the setting polymer for the clad is balanced with the pressure from the liquid for formation.
