PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for tread, which exhibits excellent grip performance in a wide temperature range when used in a tire tread. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tread is obtained by mixing 100 parts by mass of a rubber component (A) with 5-50 parts by mass of a softener (B) having -50°C to 50°C softening point, 5-50 parts by mass of a resin (C) having≥70°C softening point and/or 5-50 parts by mass of a plasticizer (D) having≤-50°C freezing point.
