PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acetylenic polymer with which a metal organic complex can be reutilized and the acetylenic polymer can inexpensively be obtained. SOLUTION: The method for producing the acetylenic polymer is characterized as comprising the following steps. a polymerization step of adding an acetylenic compound and the metal organic complex into a solvent, carrying out polymerization and providing a reaction mixture liquid containing the acetylenic polymer, a recovering step of separating and recovering the acetylenic polymer from the reaction mixture liquid and a readdition step of newly adding the acetylenic compound to a part or all of the residual liquid remaining by separation and recovery of the acetylenic polymer.
