PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents the degradation of a charging potential characteristic of a high-durability photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic image forming apparatus has a photoreceptor 1 and repeatedly places the photoreceptor 1 in one cycle of image formation consisting of at least destaticizing, charging, exposure, development and transfer. The photoreceptor is the photoreceptor 1 which has high-durability by forming a photosensitive layer with high wear resistance and also setting the ratio C2/C1 of its initial electrostatic capacity C1 to electrostatic capacity C2 varying with time to≥1.3, and a plurality of electrifiers 2 and 3 charging the photoreceptor 1 is provided in a cycle from the destaticizing to the exposure of the photoreceptor 1.
