DEVICE FOR REMOVING FOREIGN MATTER FROM MOLTEN METAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device using fine bubbles for removing floating foreign matter from molten metal subjected to continuous treatment such as continuous molten metal plating bath. SOLUTION: The device 9 for removing the floating foreign matter from the molten metal comprises metal protecting tubes 11 in which a plurality of ceramic thin tubes 12 are mounted with mortar and attached to an inert gas introducing pipe 13. The ceramic thin tubes 12 for generating fine bubbles have a small inner diameter of 0.3 mm or smaller or an inner diameter of 5 mm or smaller with the inner hole filled with a porous material or ceramic fibers. The front end of the ceramic tubing 12 can be protruded a distance longer than the target diameter of the bubble from the front end of the metal protecting tube 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
