PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car washer capable of surely performing car washing operation for a car to be washed. SOLUTION: The car washer is equipped with a pair of right and left rocker brushes 17 which are provided on the lower parts of both sides in a car washer body 1 in freely approaching and separating manner, and clean the lower parts of the both side faces of a vehicle 2 by rotating, and a vehicle detection sensor 18 detecting a rear bumper 2a of the vehicle 2. When the rocker brushes 17 which are approached to the vehicle 2 and rotated in washing reach the position just before the rear bumper 2a detected by the vehicle detection sensor 18, the rotation of the rocker brushes 17 is stopped and separated from the vehicle 2. Even if it is the rear bumper 2a of a special shape vehicle 2, the rocker brushes 17 can be prevented from getting stuck with the rear bumper 2a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
