PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water purifying device capable of purifying ballast water to satisfy a reference value about microbe and bacteria contained in the ballast water when discharging the ballast water stored in the vessel. SOLUTION: This ballast water purifying device is provided with a storage tank 30 for storing the ballast water inside the vessel 3, a filter device 21 for filtering the ballast water to be filled in the storage tank 30, and a sterilizing device 31 for sterilizing the ballast water stored in the storage tank 30 when discharging the ballast water during sailing or after sailing.
