Preparation of a multi-layered lining element (10), for the interior fittings of a motor vehicle, comprising at least a carrier layer (13) on a one foam layer (15) and a visible slush layer (14), comprises producing the visible slush layer from thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) as a powder- or granulate forming precursor and melting the visible slush layer. An independent claim is also included for a lining element.
