<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, capable of producing the carboxylic acid from an olefin or an α,β-unsaturated aldehyde in high selectivity. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises subjecting the olefin or the α,β-unsaturated aldehyde to liquid-phase oxidation with molecular oxygen in the presence of a palladium-containing catalyst, wherein a phosphorus-containing compound and/or a tellurium-containing compound are made to exist in a liquid phase in which the liquid-phase oxidation is conducted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
