<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of carrying out the processing of restoring from a power saving mode according to data received by the image forming apparatus at an adequate timing based on an intention of a user. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 10 comprises a power saving control section 31 for controlling the supplying of power to a printing mechanism 32, a data reception section 21 for receiving data with added thereto a control code transmitted to the image forming apparatus 10, a data analysis section 22 for analyzing the control code, and an image forming section 23 for forming image data which is obtained by developing print data to bitmap data when the data includes the print data. When it is determined by the data analysis section 22 that the control code is of a restoring designation code for designating the restoring from the power saving mode to the image forming apparatus, the data analysis section 22 transmits a restoring designation signal to the power saving control section 31. The power saving control section 31 restarts the supplying of the power to the printing mechanism 32 while the image forming apparatus 10 is operating in the power saving mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
