<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having a hybrid type color filter structure, wherein application to high definition (pitch narrowed pixel) is also performed. <P>SOLUTION: A colored part CFH and a low colored part CFL whose color density is lower than that of the colored part are formed in a reflection region CFR on a CF substrate 2b in order to have the hybrid type color filter structure. The shape of the low colored part CFL is so formed that at least a part of the low colored part CFL comes in contact with a peripheral edge of the reflection region CFR and does not come in contact with a peripheral edge on the opposite side of the reflection region CFR. As one example, the low colored part CFL is formed in a recessed shape. In formation of a resist pattern, constraints of the minimum size of a remaining pattern and a removed pattern is reduced as compared with the case the low colored part is formed in a slit shape and a window shape and the recessed shape can be adapted to high definition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
