摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device, a projector and a manufacturing method of the light source device capable of drastically improving utilization factor of a light source light by using a sub-reflector arranged in opposition to a reflecting surface of an ellipse reflector. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 10 is equipped with an arc tube 11 having an light-emission part 111 and sealing parts 1121, 1122, an ellipse reflector 12, and a sub-reflector 13 covering a front side of the arc tube 11 and reflecting flux of light emitted from the arc tube 11 to the ellipse reflector 12. An emission center of discharge emission of the arc tube 11 is arranged at a first focal position L1 of the ellipse reflector 12, the sub-reflector 13 is structured as a different member from the arc tube 11, and attached to the sealing part 1122 of the front side of the arc tube 11, an outer peripheral part of the sub-reflector 13 is stored inside a cone shown by a second focal position L2 of the ellipse reflector 12, and lines L3, L4 connecting a tip side end part of the sealing part 1122 of the arc tube 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
