PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head device having structure capable of suppressing ESD damage and fully protecting a CPP type playback head from noise by a recording head, etc. SOLUTION: The magnetic head device is constituted by providing a short-circuit mechanism 3 between a grounded substrate 20 and a laminated film pattern 12A, electrically connecting each of a magnetic pole layer 18, a lower shield layer 10 and an upper shield layer 8 in a recording head with the substrate 20 and adjusting all the capacitances C28-C30 among those so as to be equal. Thus, electrostatic charges generated in manufacturing or use and accumulated in the laminated film pattern 12A, the magnetic layer 18, the lower shield layer 10 and the upper shield layer 8, etc. are gradually discharged and as a result, the ESD damage is suppressed. Moreover, an influence to an operation of the laminated film pattern 12A by the noise and cross-talk caused by the recording head is also prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
