PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble by force-fitting without upsetting the mirror face accuracy of a polygon mirror in assembling the polygon mirror into a rotary shaft. SOLUTION: When the polygon mirror 100 is fixedly force-fitted to the boss of the rotary shaft, a moving mass 106 caused by deformation during force-fitting of the polygon mirror 100 to the boss 111 is transferred to a groove formed between a recess 102 and the boss 111, wherein the recess 102 is provided along the inner circumferential face 105 of a through hole drilled in the center of the polygon mirror 100. Also, an upper/lower moving mass 107 in the thickness direction during the force-fitting of the polygon mirror 100 is transferred to a groove formed between a chamfered part 103 preliminarily machined in the polygon mirror 100 and the boss 111. Consequently, the recesses 102 provided along the inner circumferential face 105 of the through hole 101 drilled in the center of the polygon mirror 100, as well as the chamfered parts 103 formed vertically in the thickness direction, serve as runout grooves when the polygon mirror 100 is force-fitted to the boss 111; thus, the absorption of the deformation is made possible when assembling the polygon mirror by force-fitting.
