PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable effective control of each of a cylinder head and a cylinder block in a cooling system to a desired temperature at both times, before the end of warmup including start time and warmup time, and after warmup of an engine. SOLUTION: The cooling system is quipped with a cylinder head cooling passage 21 provided to the cylinder head 20 of the engine 10, a cylinder block cooling passage 31 provided to the cylinder block 30 of the engine 10 which is provided independently of the cylinder head cooling passage 21, and a switching means 103 for switching the flow of a cooling medium. The switching means 103 performs switching so that before warmup of the engine is completed to a predetermined state, the cooling medium heated by a heat accumulator 70 or by recovery of exhausted heat is supplied to the cylinder block cooling passage 21 and not to the cylinder head cooling passage 31, and after engine warmup is completed to the predetermined state, the cooling medium is supplied to the cylinder head cooling passage 21 and then to the cylinder block cooling passage 31.
