PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler capable of being miniaturized, being arranged in a place having high temperature, and suppressing noise securely. SOLUTION: This muffler is provided with a sound wave generation part 71 for generating sound wave for suppressing noise having frequency of noise outputted from a noise source and having reverse phase to phase of noise according to the principle of flute for introducing air stream from the outside and a controller 73 for detecting frequency and phase of noise outputted from the noise source and controlling frequency and phase of sound wave for suppressing noise.
