PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an oligomer containing a fluorinated alkyl group by a simple method which unnecessitates complicated processes such as solvent substitution even when a chain transfer agent, which causes a problem of odor or problems in a prolonged storage, is not used. SOLUTION: The oligomer containing the fluorinated alkyl group is obtained by polymerizing a monomer (I) that is an ethylenic unsaturated monomer containing a fluorinated-alkyl-group-containing ethylenic unsaturated monomer (A) by using 0.07-0.70 mole of a polymerization initiator to 1 mole of the ethylenic unsaturated group of the monomer (I).
