PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus having simple constitution in which nip pressure is not easily changed even when a fixing pressing member for supporting the rear face of a pressure belt is deteriorated. SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus is provided with: a heat roll Fh and an endless pressure belt Fp forming a fixing area Q5 in an area where the heat roll Fh and the pressure belt Fp are pressurized in contact with each other; a belt support frame arranged in the endless pressure belt Fp and extended in the width direction of the pressure belt Fp; a pressing member holder 19 supported by the belt support frame; a belt support member S having a fixing depression member 21 having an elastic member for depressing the rear face of the pressure belt Fp to the heat roll Fh and a belt guide fitted to the belt support frame to guide the inner periphery of the pressure belt Fp and capable of rotationally supporting the pressure belt Fp; and a fixing pressing member support body 20 constituted of an elastic body having higher degre of hardness than the pressing member holder 19.
