PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold and a method for making the mold with which the reduction of treating cost to a gypsum mold and the shortening of drying time can be obtained under state of considering the surrounding by reducing the consumption of the gypsum while securing the strength of the mold. SOLUTION: This mold and the method for making the mold are the followings, that is, a mold frame 5 having higher melting point than that of the gypsum and the strength withstanding the heat expansion of the gypsum is constituted by fitting to the outer periphery of the gypsum mold 1.
