ANTENNA ASSEMBLY AND RADIO COMMUNICATION APPARATUS EMPLOYING SAME

An antenna assembly having a first planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) operating at a first frequency, and a second PIFA operating at a second frequency higher than the first frequency and so arranged to be insulated from the first PIFA. The antenna assembly has an antenna element where a first short circuit lead wire and a second short circuit lead wire are connected with a ground terminal provided on a substrate, a first feeder lead wire and a second feeder wire are connected with a feeder terminal provided on the substrate, respectively through first and second matching circuits. The antenna assembly exhibits a high degree of freedom in regulation of characteristics corresponding to a plurality of frequency bands.
