<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the power consumption of a fixing part is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: When a power source is turned on, an engine driver calculates a warm-up time (time X) of the fixing part. When receiving a print job, an image processing part starts page development of developing print data to image data. A remainder page development time is calculated and is compared with the warm-up time of the fixing part. In the case that the remainder page development time is shorter than the warm-up time of the fixing part (is a time C), a warm-up start timing of the fixing part is reported to a system control part, and warm-up start of the fixing part is requested to the engine driver. The engine driver starts a warm-up control of the fixing part, namely, processing of heating a roller by a heater. The warm-up start of the fixing part at this timing allows the end of warm-up and the end of page development to be synchronized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
