<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect whether a pad of a hydraulic brake reaches a wear limit. <P>SOLUTION: Hydraulic pressure increase slope accompanying supply of working fluid to a brake cylinder gets larger in a case where the pad reaches the wear limit as compared to a case where the pad does not reaches the wear limit. Consequently, time for brake cylinder fluid pressure to reach wear limit detection fluid pressure Pbs gets shorter.
