PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric element which can transform heat into electricity efficiently by increasing temperature difference in a thermoelectric material. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric element has such a profile as the area does not become uniform in the cross-sectional direction perpendicular to heat flux, e.g. truncated cone, frustum of pyramid, a combination of a plurality of them, or a combination of spheres.
