PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine capable of preventing the case that succeeding image data cannot be received because a storage section is fully occupied by unprinted received data when paper of a size corresponding to the received image data runs short. SOLUTION: When the selected paper runs short during execution of the page print processing, a paper detection means outputs a paper absence detection signal in a step S101, and whether or not printing can be made by using paper of other sizes is checked (S104). When the printable paper of the other sizes exists, an image data compressor/expander 2 applies reduction processing to image data stored in the image data storage 7 (S105), and the processing proceeds to a step S102 wherein the page print processing is carried out.
