The invention concerns a method for automatically producing voice labels in a user's first address book from a second address book of said user, said second address book being associated with a voice label creating module (23). The invention is characterized in that the method includes the following steps: for the user, creating in said second address book a contact defined by a name and at least one communication mode number of said contact; transmitting to said voice label creating module (23) an audio sequence containing at least said contact name; for the voice label creating module (23), creating from said audio sequence an audio file and associating same with said communication mode number of said contact; for the user, synchronizing said first address book with the second address book. The invention is applicable to address book management.
