<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional film of low moisture permeability and a polarizing plate of low change in transmittance and the degree of polarization caused by heat or humidity and to provide a liquid crystal display device having a high display grade at a wide visual field angle without causing a problem such as a light leak or the like by using a polarizing plate, wherein a retardation film and a protective film of low moisture permeability are arranged on both sides of a polarizer, in the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The functional film contains a cellulose acylate film of which the elastic modulus under a 25°C/60% RH condition is 3,800 N/mm<SP>2</SP>or above in either the width direction or longitudinal direction of the film and the water content under the 25°C/80% RH condition is 2.9 mass% or below and the low-moisture permeable cured layer provided at least on one side of the cellulose acylate film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
