<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive lithographic printing plate material with excellent printout properties, resistance to plate wear and smear proofness during printing, and an aluminum plate support for a photosensitive lithographic printing plate material and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the aluminum plate support for a photosensitive lithographic printing plate material features the procedures to roughen/anodize the surface of the support, then make it hydrophilic, treat it with silicate of soda, and treat it with an aqueous solution containing a polyvinyl phosphonic acid.
