<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an entry management device capable of permitting entry to only people with the intention of entry, without requiring operation for showing the intention of entry. <P>SOLUTION: The entry management device 50 with a tag reader 14 for reading, in a nontact manner an ID number recorded in a tag 15 is provided with a face detecting part 12 for detecting a face from images picked up by a camera 10; a facial size determining part 18 for determining the size of the face detected; a facial direction determining part 19 for determining the direction of the face detected; and an entry intention determining part 20 for determining whether there is the intention of entry according to the size and the direction of the face. When the collation of the ID number recorded in the tag 15 indicates that the ID number is normal, images of the user are picked up a plurality of times by using the camera 10. When the size of the face, for which the images are picked up meets such a requirement as getting larger, the entry intention determining part 20 determines that the user has the intention of entry.
