PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a restraining ring mounting method for a bound stopper capable of avoiding degradation of the working easiness and of making the construction small while the performance is maintained to the same degree as conventional. SOLUTION: An engaging groove 21a stretching in the circumferential direction is provided at the peripheral surface of a restraining ring 21, and drawing out of a holding hole 31a in a jig 31 is made by sliding the restraining ring 21 in the direction perpendicular to the axis together with a stopper body 11a after the ring 21 is fitted in a ring-shaped groove 11c in the stopper body 11a upon fitting by pressure the stopper body 11a in the axial direction into an internal hole of the ring 21 in such a condition that the ring 21 is held by the jig 31 by sliding the engaging groove 21a in the direction perpendicular to the axis and engaging with a projection 31b provided on the jig 31.
