PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize network boot for reducing any load to be imposed on a computer which performs network boot. SOLUTION: In this network boot method of a computer 1 which reads storage data 143 stored in a storage device 3 for performing network boot, the computer 1 executes a program for start. A gateway server 2 receives storage data 143 from a storage device 3 by a host protocol processing for executing communication relating to security in response to a boot request from a computer 1. The gateway server 2 transmits the storage data 143 to the computer 1 by low-order protocol processing relating to high speed communication.
