PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OFDM diversity receiver capable of obtaining a composite signal with better reception quality in comparison with that of a technology by single reception. SOLUTION: Fast Fourier transform (FFT) is applied to signals received by antennas 11<SB>1</SB>, 11<SB>2</SB>and thereafter C/N arithmetic sections 17<SB>1</SB>, 17<SB>2</SB>calculate the C/N of each symbol, and the calculated C/N ratios are averaged by smoothing processing sections 18<SB>1</SB>, 18<SB>2</SB>. A first weight calculation section 19 receives CN<SB>1</SB>, CN<SB>2</SB>being the averaged C/N ratios of each branch and determines first weight coefficientsσ<SB>1</SB>,σ<SB>2</SB>on the basis of a relative ratio (CN<SB>1</SB>/CN<SB>2</SB>). The weight coefficientsσ<SB>1</SB>,σ<SB>2</SB>are multiplied with signals X<SB>1</SB>, X<SB>2</SB>and transmission path responses H<SB>1</SB>, H<SB>2</SB>. Then second weight coefficients W<SB>1</SB>, W<SB>2</SB>are calculated from transmission path responsesσ<SB>1</SB>H<SB>1</SB>,σ<SB>2</SB>H<SB>2</SB>, and second weight coefficients W<SB>1</SB>, W<SB>2</SB>are multiplied with the weighted signalsσ<SB>1</SB>X<SB>1</SB>,σ<SB>2</SB>X<SB>2</SB>to carry out the MRC composition.
