PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and easy-to-install high security system in which the leakage of personal information is prevented and privacy can be protected by not only providing information from outdoors to indoors but also providing information from the indoors to the outdoors while avoiding the complication of a system arrangement or connection. SOLUTION: The bidirectional intercom security system comprises an information terminal which can perform the acquisition and confirmation of information bidirectionally between the indoors and the outdoors, and an authentication section for determining whether a person can confirm the information acquired by an indoor terminal. Complex wiring and the control of doors, windows and sensors on the inside and outside of a room are avoided, and an independent communication line is employed so that the outdoor terminal and indoor terminal are not connected with the outdoor terminal or the indoor terminal of a third person or the other communication network such as a line dedicated to centralized control or the general purpose Internet.
