PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensing element having a largeΔRA and small coersive force Hc and magnetostriction constantλs of free magnetic layer. SOLUTION: A free magnetic layer 16 is a laminate of Co<SB>2</SB>MnZ alloy layer 16a (Z is one kind or more of elements including Al, Sn, In, Sb, Ga, Si, Ge, Pb, Zn) and (Ni<SB>a</SB>Fe<SB>100-a</SB>)<SB>b</SB>X<SB>100-b</SB>alloy layer 16b (X is one kind or more of elements including Cu, Au, Ag, Zn, Mn, Al, Cd, Zr, Hf, a, b represents composition ratio, and 80<a≤100, 60<b≤100). Consequently, magnetostriction constantλs and coersive force Hc of a free magnetic layer are decreased and soft magnetic characteristics of the free magnetic layer can be enhanced.
