PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide images for enabling a color blind person to discriminate colors. SOLUTION: A color discrimination photographing mode is set by pressing the menu button of a camera. The image for color discrimination is generated by applying two or more pieces of image processing (normal image processing and comparison image processing) to image data obtained by image pickup of one time, is written back to an SDRAM 37, and is preserved in a memory card 16 or the like after display and compression. In order to generate comparison images (normal image and image for color discrimination) for the color blind person to discriminate the colors, the comparison image is generated through the normal image processing for the first input image. For first and second color blind persons recognize all of red, yellow and green as yellow so that discrimination is difficult. On the other hand, magenta, blue and cyan can be discriminated and discrimination with yellow, green and red is also possible. Then, by performing the processing of converting red into blue, red becomes blue, yellow becomes cyan, and thus red, yellow and green which are difficult to discriminate can be discriminated.
