PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus capable of preventing the disturbance of a toner image and effectively fixing a toner image over a long period. SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus 160 comprises: a fixing roll 401 including a halogen heater 45; a pressure belt 55 stretched around a pressure roll 52, a stretch roll 53 and a lead roll 54; and a pressure auxiliary roll 51 arranged on the upstream of a nip part N. The pressure auxiliary roll 51 has a three-layer structure consisting of a surface layer, an inner layer to be a hard elastic layer and an intermediate layer to be a soft elastic layer, and the hardness of the intermediate layer is made lower than that of the other two rubber layers.
