PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording recovery when a recording error occurs, to prevent recording interruption as much as possible, and to continue recording as long as possible. SOLUTION: When encode data are stored, e.g., by the portion of 1VOBU after the start of recording processing, the data are read from a buffer memory to be written in an optical disk. When a writing error occurs during writing, an error occurrence sector address is set in a next writing sector address. When the next writing sector address is different from a next writable sector address, 2ECC blocks are added to the next writing sector address. When the writing is resumed after the 2ECC blocks are are made to be invalid sectors, a memory address is returned to the memory address at the time of error occurrence. When the number of times of continuous errors is less than a predetermined number, recording is made from a write resuming sector and encode data are sequentially recorded from the returned memory address.
