NUCLEOSIDE, NUCLEOSIDE DERIVATIVE, OLIGONUCLEOTIDE, AND OLIGONUCLEOTIDE ASSOCIATION PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To associate a non-natural oligonucleotide by chemical bonds different from hydrogen bonds or bonds by stacking or hydrophobic interactions. SOLUTION: Halogen bonds are noticed as one of bonds causing the associations of non-natural oligonucleotides, and a non-natural nucleoside containing a halogen bond donor or a halogen bond receptor and its nucleoside derivative is synthesized. An oligonucleotide having a nucleoside residue functioning as a halogen bond donor or a halogen bond receptor is synthesized from the nucleoside derivative and a commercially available phosphoroamidite unit for synthesizing DNA. An association product is formed by associating an oligonucleotide having a nucleoside residue functioning as a halogen bond donor or a halogen bond receptor with a halogen bond donor or a halogen bond receptor through halogen bonds.
