PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate carrying/supporting device capable of simply performing the replacement of a glass plate supporting device while surely carrying the glass plate. SOLUTION: The glass plate carrying/supporting device 20 is provided with the glass plate supporting device 30 for supporting a carried glass plate 12 and a driving chain 40 for carrying the glass plate supporting device 30, and the driving chain 40 has an engaging part 41 to engage with the glass plate supporting device 30 in respect of a carrying direction of the driving chain 40, and the engaging part 41 is not engaged with the glass plate supporting device 30 in respect of at least one direction other than the carrying direction.
