PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF STRETCHED THERMOPLASTIC POLYESTER RESIN SHEET AND LAMINATED MOLDED ARTICLE

A process for producing a stretched thermoplastic polyester resin sheet, comprising the steps of performing pultrusion stretching of an amorphous thermoplastic polyester resin sheet at a temperature ranging from a temperature lower by 20°C than the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic polyester resin and a temperature higher by 20°C than the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic polyester resin, and then mono-axially stretching the resulting product at a temperature higher than the temperature employed for the pultrusion stretching; and a laminated molded article produced by laminating thermoplastic resin layers on both sides of the stretched thermoplastic polyester resin sheet. The process can produce a stretched thermoplastic polyester resin sheet having excellent tensile strength, elastic modulus in tension and heat resistance. The laminated molded article produced by using the sheet has a low linear expansion coefficient, is lightweight, and is excellent in impact resistance, durability, handling property and productivity.
