<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide structure for an optical pen that can obtain optimum reflected image light. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide structure for the optical pen 70 comprises a light source 72, an optical sensor 74 and a light guide component 81. Light from the light source irradiates an outer surface, and reflected imaging light of the outer surface 92 is captured by the optical sensor. The reflected imaging light travels in a direction defined with the captured light. The light guide component is formed of a light conducting material and provided with a light incoming face 83, an extension part 82 and a light outgoing face 85. The light incoming face is adjacent to the light source. The extension part is parallel with the captured light direction from the light incoming face and extended by a predetermined length in an opposite direction to the light incoming face. The light outgoing face is located at the end of the optical pen away from the extension part. Light emitted from the light source is guided by the light guide component and incident to the outer surface at an inclined angle less than 50°to improve the contrast and recognizability of reflected imaging light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
