PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for SQL divided type parallel retrieval capable of performing retrieval processing at high speed by storing term indexes into a database management system (DBMS). SOLUTION: A first server divides the term-divided SQL by depending on the number of second servers, and distributes the divided SQL to either of the second servers. The second server inquires a term index storing means while paralleling each distributed SQL, and performs parallel calculation for a document score by receiving document IDs corresponding to each SQL. Then, the document ID is transmitted to the first server, and the first server receives document information corresponding to the document ID by transmitting the document ID to document information DB.
