PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corona charging device capable of making the service life of the device longer and the size thereof smaller, maintaining a discharge electrode for electrostatic charging always in a clean state, and forming a high sharpness image free of discharge noise, and an image forming apparatus equipped therewith. SOLUTION: The corona charging device 2A installed to the image forming apparatus equipped with a discharge electrode 21A for electrostatic charging for electrostatically charging the surface of an image carrier 1, a discharge electrode 22A for capture for capturing dust and the like in air, and a shield case 23A for housing the discharge electrode 21 for electrostatic charging and the discharge electrode 22A for capture. The discharge electrode 22A for capture is equipped with a base part 22A and a plurality of discharge parts 22Ab, 22Ac, 22Ad and the directions where the respective discharge parts extends exist in a plurality.
