PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader, wherein a mirror is easily detached from a traveling body in order to clean or wash the mirror, so that the staining of the mirror is inexpensively perfectly removed. SOLUTION: By providing a notch larger than the height of the 1st mirror 3 in the traveling body at the same horizontal position as the 1st mirror 3 on the reinforcing part 308 of a 1st rail 306, space where the 1st mirror 3 is slid is secured, so that the mirror is easily detached when cleaning the mirror.
