PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus high in reliability which shortens a total printing time by carrying out detection of non-delivering of a plurality of heads in a short time. SOLUTION: An inkjet printing apparatus which carries out printing by delivering ink to a medium to be printed with the use of an inkjet technique has a plurality of detecting means which detect ink droplets delivered from an inkjet head, and a mobile body relatively movable to the ink droplet detecting means. A plurality of nozzle arrays are set on the mobile body. Moreover, the nozzle arrays are arranged according to a definite order. Further, a plurality of block units formed by a plurality of the nozzle arrays are present in the apparatus.
