PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a decorative pillar material capable of manufacturing the decorative pillar material in a short time by the reduced number of work processes and capable of removing not only the actualizing fear of a joint caused by the ex post facto adhesion of a decorative material but also the occurring fear of a crack in the joint. SOLUTION: The decorative pillar material, which is constituted by bonding the decorative sheet 1 to the periphery of a core material 5 having a square pillar shape, is manufactured by successively performing a process for bonding natural wood decorative veneer 3 to one backing sheet 2 to form the decorative sheet 1, a process for forming a protective film 4 on the surface of the decorative veneer 3, a process for forming a V-shaped cut-off groove 6 to a backing sheet 2 at a position separated by the distance corresponding to the respective side surface grooves (w) of the core material 5 and a process for bending the decorative sheet 1 at the forming position of the cut-off groove 6 to bond it to the periphery of the core material 5.
